Nice Cream Recipes

Banana Nice Cream with Strawberries & Blueberries

Welcome to mealplan4me's Nice Cream Recipes!

I was recently introduced to nice cream via the web. I was looking up raw food recipes and came across a website that had a banana nice cream recipe featured on it. I don't specialize in raw foods, but have tried raw collard green wraps, but that is the extent of it. Everything else about vegan or raw foods is new to me.

What Exactly Is Nice Cream?

Basically, it is frozen fruit blended with liquid, such as almond milk, but it tastes just like ice cream! Except for the fact that it does not have all the extra added sugars that ice cream has. It is pure fruit and it's natural sugars. You are not adding any preservatives or anything unhealthy. It's a great way to have dessert without all of the guilt!

Key Tips:

  • Make sure that whatever type of fruit you use, that it is very ripe. The riper, the better. This ensures that the fruit will be very sweet and not bitter
  • Before you place the fruit in the freezer, make sure to chop it up into chunks and place in a freezer bag. By chopping it up, you are making it easier for yourself when you are ready to blend it
  • Put no more than 1 tablespoon at a time of liquid, when blending. Depending on how creamy you like it, you'll need to adjust the liquid level. If you like it a bit more chunkier, use less liquid. And, if you like it really creamy, you'll need to add more liquid
  • Have a scraper on hand. You'll need to frequently scrape off the sides of the blender until done
  • Serve immediately. It starts to melt quickly and it does not freeze up the same so you'll only want to make one batch at a time

Here Are My Nice Cream Recipes!

Banana Nice Cream with Strawberries & Blueberries

  • 3 Bananas, chopped
  • 1-2 Tablespoons of Almond Milk
  • 1-2 Strawberries, Sliced
  • 5 Blueberries

Preparation: Chop 3 ripe bananas and place them in a freezer bag. Freeze for at least 24 hours. When ready, place the frozen bananas in a blender or food processor. Pulse for a few seconds and then add 1 tablespoon of liquid. Scrape off the sides if necessary. Keep pulsing and add more liquid, if desired. Pulse until desired consistency is reached. Pour into dessert cups, then add fruit on top. Serve immediately.

There are a lot of nice cream recipes out on the web. You can go through many of them to get ideas of how to create your own. Get creative and have fun!
