Italian Sausage with Gemelli



If you love spicy foods, then you will love this Italian Sausage with Gemelli recipe. The trick is in the type of sausage you buy. I tend to purchase Italian sausages that are already spicy, so you don't need to add spice while cooking. It is quite an easy recipe, one that can be done within 30 minutes.

Ingredients


*1 lb. Gemelli Pasta

*1 lb. Spicy Italian Sausage

*1 Medium Onion, Chopped

*1 15oz. Can Diced Tomatoes

*3 T. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

*1/4 C. Water

*Salt and Pepper to Taste




Preparation


*Boil water for the pasta. Cook according to the package.

*In a pan, add the extra virgin olive oil.

*Add the chopped onions, saute for about 4 minutes.

*Chop the Italian sausages about 1/2 inch in thickness.

*Add them to the pan. Cook until brown.

*Add the can of diced tomatoes, along with the water.

*Add salt and pepper to taste.

***Watch the water level during cooking. Make sure to add more if it evaporates.

*Simmer for about 20 minutes.

*To serve, plate the sauce mixture on top of the pasta.
