Kitchen Organization is the Key for Quick and Easy Meal Planning!

Kitchen organization is key when planning your meals. Having a clean, organized, and clutter-free kitchen will also help you stay motivated and confident while getting rid of feelings of being overwhelmed or intimidated when it comes to meal planning. So, before you even think of putting a grocery list together one of your most important tasks is to declutter your kitchen. Once this initial step is completed, you will be on your way to creating the ultimate kitchen conducive to quick and easy meal planning.

Why De Clutter?

If you have a disorganized kitchen or have so many food items in the pantry or fridge, it's hard to see what you have. In turn, it makes it challenging while shopping since you may end up purchasing items you may already have. Therefore, keeping your kitchen clean and organized will help with the menu planning, as well as, with your grocery shopping.

Step-by-Step to Decluttering Your Kitchen

*You will need the following supplies: Sponge, bucket of warm water and garbage bags.

*Take every item out of your kitchen cupboards, pantry, freezer and fridge. I would recommend doing one at a time so not to overwhelm yourself.

*Toss all expired items.

*Toss all canned items that has not been consumed within one year.

*Toss all spices, dry herbs, and baking ingredients (baking powder, soda, flour, etc.) that have not been used within 3 years.

*Clean the cupboards, pantry, freezer, and fridge with soap and hot water.

*Plan your ZONES. This is where you will begin organizing your kitchen space.

*Create a STAPLE LIST.
