How to Organize Your Kitchen

After being fed up with my disorganized kitchen, I knew I had to do something. I needed some organization tips, but couldn't find any that suited my needs.

So, I decided to go full force and started emptying out my kitchen! Before I knew it, everything was out of my pantry, fridge and freezer.

How could I have created such a mess! However, it is in this chaos where my "system" came to life.

Going through my system can be a huge job so just do as much or as little as you have time for.


Spring Cleaning Tips

Here Is An Example Of How I Organized My Kitchen

*Take every item out of your kitchen cupboards, pantry, freezer and fridge. I would recommend doing one at a time so not to overwhelm yourself the way I did.

* Clean the cupboards, pantry, freezer, and fridge with soap and hot water.

* Toss all expired items.

* Toss all canned items that has not been consumed within one year.

* Toss all spices,dry herbs, and baking ingredients (baking powder, soda, flour, etc.) that have not been used within 3 years.

* Group all like products together i.e. all canned items in one area, pasta and rice in another area, snacks, etc.

* Take it one step further and group all like canned items in one area i.e. spaghetti sauce in one group, canned fruit in another group, canned veggies in another group, etc.

* You can take it another step by grouping all canned corn in one spot, canned green beans in another spot, canned peaches or canned pineapple in another spot. I think you get my point by now :)

* In the fridge, group all breads, dairy, eggs, fresh veggies, and fresh fruit in their own areas.
