Rice Recipes

Rice recipes are not always exciting. Sometimes, it is a hassle to make and other times, it seems like a necessity.

Unless you have a rice cooker, cooking rice can have it's risks in that, it may not cook consistently. Especially, if you didn't measure the rice-to-water ratio accurately.

I have made rice many times and use my mom's rice-to-water ratio. It is not the 2:1 (2 cups of water to every 1 cup of rice) ratio that is typically known.

Depending on the type of rice you use, the 2:1 ratio may be too much. Then, you have rice that looks like pudding.

The type of rice my mom uses is always the long grain rice. With that, she always uses the 1 1/2:1 ratio.

That is, for every 1 and 1/2 cup of water, she will use 1 cup of rice.

This seems to be the best ratio. So, don't be afraid to make rice without a rice cooker!

Hope you enjoy my recipes!
